Gachagua claimed there were plans by the Kenya Kwanza administration to curtail his freedom of movement.
"Unfortunately, there are concerted efforts to curtail our freedom to move around the country and associate with like-minded people. I did not mind Ruto sending goons after me, but in church? Surely? What has happened to you, Mr. President?" he posed.
The former deputy president claimed the president used Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja to hire goons to cause trouble in the church.
He further alleged that the government ordered police not to provide security at his event.
"You don’t care anymore that, through Nairobi Governor Sakaja, you are sending goons to cause trouble in the church. That’s okay; you can continue. We are aware that the Deputy Inspector General instructed the police not to come," he added.
Allies of the former deputy president equally condemned the chaotic incident, saying police should be held responsible.

Murang's senator Joe Nyotu, strongly criticised the Kenya Kwanza Alliance for the incident.
Meanwhile, Gachagua urged his supporters to remain peaceful despite alleged plans to incite them ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Did police stop Gachagua's meeting in Naivasha?
The incident comes a few days after police officers attempted to block Gachagua from addressing a political rally in Naivasha town, Nakuru county.
In a video that was widely shared online, armed police officers were spotted restraining the crowd that wanted to listen to the former DP.
Despite the attempts by the police officers, the former Mathira lawmaker managed to address the huge gathering.

According to Gachagua, the president and his allies were worried over his increasing popularity.
