President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday October 27, 2015 to a traditional reception by two Indian ladies.

A part of the official reception for the president who is on a four-day visit to India included getting the special red mark typical of Indians on his forehead referred to 'bindu'.

According to Indian tradition, the bindu mark is regarded as a point of energy and strengthens concentration in a person.

  • The tradition also says the dot represents the third eye and that that is why it is placed at the "seat of wisdom" - the place between the two human eyes.

The other lady gave him a special Indian yellow saffron scarf.

Perhaps this is the kind of wisdom and concentration that Uhuru may need to bring back to the country and get hold of runaway corruption as well as fix the country's economy that is already facing headwinds.

It is Uhuru's maiden trip to the populous Asian country and is expected to hold talks with Prime Minister Modi and also address a business forum for top-notch entrepreneurs on his first business day.

Kenya, India and other African countries account for three quarters of 34 million persons living with HIV globally.

Some 1.6 million Kenyans are infected with HIV, the fourth highest burden after South Africa, Nigeria and India.
