The Origin Story
Trammell was born and raised in Garland, Texas, on February 15th, 1989.

Her mother, Judy Trammell, was cheerleading royalty; she had been a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys for four years and had been the head choreographer for the team’s cheerleaders since 1991.
Trammell followed in her mother’s footsteps from an early age, showing an interest in – and aptitude for – gymnastics and cheerleading.
She quickly mastered the back handspring as a young child, and in 2004 and 2006, she was part of the winning team at the world championships for Cheer Athletics.
She was also a cheerleader for the University of North Texas for a year, before auditioning for the Dallas Cowboys.

Trammell was familiar with the Dallas Cowboys’ cheerleading team due to her mother, who – as mentioned – was once a member of the squad and was also the head choreographer for them – and still was when her daughter auditioned.
Cassie would later recall that her relationship with her mother was strictly professional, and they put their personal one aside whenever they interacted with one another in the course of cheerleading.

Trammell went so far as to refrain from calling her mother “mom,” instead referring to her by her first name.
Trammell soon became a smash hit, and was well regarded by both fans and fellow cheerleaders as one of the best in the business.
She was involved with five USO tours, performed as Group Leader for two seasons, and was involved in Show Group for a full four seasons.
As a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, she has sometimes appeared at events unrelated to football.
For instance, she and two other Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders sang the national anthem at a boxing match between Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao.
Trammell is also one of the few cheerleaders who has cheered at both the AT&T Stadium and the Texas Stadium.
She has commented in the past that her job can sometimes be emotional, as she sometimes cheers in the same places that her mother did in the 1980s.

Cassie was noted for being a ‘legacy’ cheerleader – that is to say, a cheerleader whose mother had previously performed for the team.
Trammell’s relationship with her mother was often a subject of much scrutiny, particularly given that the elder Trammell was the head choreographer and, thus, could presumably pull some strings in her daughter’s favor.
Both Trammells worked assiduously to refute this assumption, with Judy Trammell careful to show no favoritism toward her daughter.
“It does give me an advantage in a way, because people know my name,” Cassie said in an interview. “But also, people will be judging me even harder.”
