Rachier has quoted the Sports Act as the legal foundation that allows him to seek another term in office.
The veteran lawyer was supposed to face off against Dolphina Odhiambo but according to reports, only Rachier submitted his documents in time before the Friday midnight deadline. Odhiambo is the outgoing club treasurer.
In the vice-chair position, Victor Mbaka had expressed interest alongside Sally Bolo, who unsuccessfully vied for the Lang'ata Parliamentary seat in 2022. Current vice-chairman Frank Wasuna is also seeking re-election.
The secretary general position attracted a huge name in the name of Joseph Ogidi Oyoo, better known as Gidi Gidi. Gidi Gidi hosts the popular Patanisho show on Radio Jambo alongside former Harambee Stars head coach Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee. He is also the brains behind the popular tune 'UNBWOGABLE'.

How much did the aspirants pay to vie in Gor Mahia elections?
Those interested in the chairman position were expected to part with half a million shillings, while the vice-chairman aspirants were expected to pay 450,000.
The secretary-general and treasurer aspirants were expected to pay 400,000. The deadline for submission was Friday, April 4, as announced by the electoral board chairman, Gichu Wahome.
Aspirant protest high election fees
The fees elicited a sharp reaction from Dolphina Odhiambo, who is interested in the chairman position. She voiced her frustrations in the short time the board had given the aspirants to pay the fees.
"Where do they expect us to get KSh 500,000 in just two days? More importantly, who verifies that those in office have paid the money genuinely?" she told Nation Sports.
Odhiambo also questioned the stark difference between the fees in the 2020 elections and this time, stating they were required to pay only 20,000 five years ago
